GUATEMALA:LOT of 24 modern medals (the Monedas de Guatemala series), 13 bronze, 5 with bronze ring and gilt center, and 6 with bronze ring and silver-plated center; the centers have Colonial Guatemala coin motifs on obverse (cobs, portraits, pillars, etc.) with MONEDAS DE GUATEMALA - COLONIALES TIPO X MACACOS COLUMNARIOS with X and the end of the legend changing for each type, and the reverse showing the reverse coin motif in the center and "Acuñados de 1772 a 1790 en valored de 8. 4, 2, 1 y ½ reales. VARIENTES: De Carlos III y de Carlos IV en plata 0.903 y 0.896, marca de ceca "G" y "NG", inicial de ensayador "P y "M" (monogram)" or similar on outer ring, except for two introductory medals with map // proclamation motif, plain edges, well-executed, all in capsules, with information packet (in Spanish), retail value $600, lot of 24 medals, Choice Proof. The collection is made up of a standard introductory medal and eleven medals of the different types of coins that the Captaincy General of Guatemala minted during colonial times, with varieties in different metals. All the medals are 38 millimeters in diameter by 3 millimeters thick and were minted in 2019, in non-precious materials, since it was considered that their value is the information contained in them and the main objective is that they reach the largest number of people for their study or collection.
