L., A Monograph of the Silver Dollar: Good and Bad, Mexico City, 1969, Sociedad Numismatica de Mexico reprint of the 1845 original, 366 pages, softcover, limited edition 189 of 550 copies. he Monograph of the Silver Dollar by Doctor Riddell is the only book of its type ever produced. It gives what is an effective snap shot in time (1839-1844) of the Counterfeit Dollar coins that were circulating in the US - The majority are Mexican 8 Reales which formed the bulk of US specie. The book is the basis on which all collectors of Mexican contemporary counterfeit 8R coins should/must operate. This reprint fills an essential gap by providing a readily available source of information not commonly available elsewhere. The original edition (500 copies) and even the 1969 reprint (500 copies) are both very difficult to locate.
