Watch List notes:

USTUNDARS OF RUYAN: al-Ustundar, fl. 948-954, AV dinar (2.26g), Madinat Amul, AH337, A-T1524, Stern-20, the bottom two lines of text on the obverse cite the local ruler, as al-ustundar in the 4th line, with an undeciphered name, perhaps al-qa.ad or al-fa.id or something similar, apparently not preserved in contemporary documents; the bottom line on the reverse is from the Qur 'an, verse 40:44, wa ufawwidhu amri ila Allah, "and my favor, I leave it to Allah", much weakness, the second known specimen and of the highest importance, crude VF, RRRR. This appears to be the second known specimen of this type, the first published by S.M. Stern in The Numismatic Chronicle in 1967 (pp. 231-234) with a long description and analysis.
