Charles I (1625-1649), Double-Crown, 1625-1626, Group B, Class I, Tower (under King), : (m.m.) : CAROLVS: D: G: MAG: BR: FR: ET HI: REX, small crowned second bust with ruff, X behind, rev. crowned square-topped shield with light garnishing, 4.53g, 2h, m.m. cross calvary (Spink 2699; N.2160; Schneider II, 175; Brooker 133), a metal flaw on bust and moderate striking weakness to peripheries, otherwise a handsomely strong portrait and fresh original surfaces, good very fine and truly pleasing, rare especially in this state.
