IONIA, Uncertain. Circa 600-550 BC. Pale EL Hekte – Sixth Stater (11mm, 2.31 g). Uncertain standard. Forepart of bridled winged horse left, legs forward in running motion, and mane flowing behind / Quadripartite incuse square. Unpublished in the standard references, but for a similar type with a horse forepart, see: Elektron I 1 corr. (forepart, not head); Triton XI, 252 (forepart left); CNG E-421, lot 170–1 (same). Somewhat granular surfaces. VF.
