SASANIAN KINGS. Kavād (Kavādh) I. First reign, AD 488-497. AR Drachm (30.5mm, 4.04 g, 3h). Imitative issue. Uncertain mint. Uncertain RY year. Bust right, wearing mural crown with frontal crescent, two ribbons, and korymbos set on crescent, ribbons and crescents on shoulders; stars flanking head / Fire altar with triple pellets and ribbons; attendants flanking, star and crescent flanking flames M in blundered Pahlavi to right. Cf. SNS Type Ib/1a; Sunrise –, but cf. 900 (for type). Traces of find patina, cleaning scratches, small lamination on obverse, die break on reverse. Good VF.
