Valens. AD 364-378. AV Solidus (21mm, 4.49 g, 5h). Decennalia issue. Antioch mint, 4th officina. Struck AD 374(?). Rosette-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Roma and Constantinopolis, with right foot on prow and holding scepter in left hand, enthroned facing, holding between them a shield inscribed VOT/X/MVL/XX in four lines; Christogram above; ANOBΔ. RIC IX 16d.1; Depeyrot 38/3 (dated AD 372). Light toning, traces of deposits in devices, light scrapes on obverse, evidence of having been placed in a bezel. Good VF.
