Members of the Pitt Club were not allowed entry to their meetings without a badge, which was sold to them at the price of £1 26s. 6d. (nearly £85 in current money). The owner of this particular badge was perhaps the James Row, Esq., a director of the Standard of England Life Assurance Company, who lived in a house in Page Green, Tottenham, designed by Humphry Repton.
