He came to the United States in 1933. He served as a professor at Princeton University until his retirement from teaching in 1945. Einstein's "theory of relativity" revolutionized the science of physics and led to the development of atomic theory.
Einstein approached Zionism in 1921. He was one of the main doers for the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 1946, he appeared before the Anglo-American Commission of Inquiry and delivered a speech in honor of Israel's Independence Day. He bequeathed to the Hebrew University his manuscripts, among which is also his article on general relativity.
