LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 B.C. AR didrachm or nomos. 7.86 gm. 22 mm. Head of Demeter left, wearing grain wreath, triple-pendant earring, and pearl necklace; ΔΩPI below chin / Ear of barley with leaf to left; rake above leaf, ΑΔ below; ΜΕΤΑ to right. HN Italy 1582. Johnston Class C, 5.4 (same dies). SNG ANS 452. Extremely Fine; attractive light toning with slight iridescence; usual die flaw on reverse. An elegant coin, well struck in fine early Hellenistic style.
