A thin man on the ground gnawing on a bone; FRENCH LIBERTY / An anchor, a cap of Liberty above; LIBERTY PEACE COMMERCE. Edge: finely milled. Good Extremely Fine; even dark tone; struck with a die covered with fine rust and some effort at polishing on the reverse; a late strike, probably a Skidmore production. Apparently unique with this edge. D&H does not list an example of this piece with a milled edge.
