EGYPT, Alexandria. Trajan. AD 98-117. Æ Drachm (31.5mm, 17.09 g, 12h). Dated RY 13 (AD 109/110). Laureate bust right, wearing aegis / Serapis enthroned left, wearing calathus, holding scepter and extending his right hand toward Cerberus at his feet; to right, Hermes(?) standing left, holding short caduceus; to left, Demeter standing facing, holding long torch; to bottom left, Isis seated right, suckling the infant Harpokrates, who is crowned with skhent; above all, two Nikai(?) holding open wreath or diadem; L I Γ (date) in exergue. Köln –; Dattari (Savio) 7170; K&G –; RPC III 4430.2; Emmett 597.? (R5 = Dattari 7170). Brown patina. Near Fine. Extremely rare, the authors of RPC III cite only three specimens. Includes old collection ticket indicating that it was purchased from Anthony, 1965.
