SASANIAN KINGS. Peroz I, 457/9-484. Drachm (Silver, 27 mm, 4.10 g, 3 h), WH (Weh-Andiyok-Shapur). MZDYSN BGY KDY PYLWCY ('Worshipper of Lord Mazda, 'God' King Peroz' in Pahlawi) Draped bust of Peroz I to right, wearing mural crown with frontal crescent and korymbos set on crescent. Rev. Fire altar flanked by two attendants; in upper field to left, five-pointed star; in upper field to right, crescent; in field to right, WH (name of the mint in Pahlawi). SNS III, pl. 96, 210. Nicely toned. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die, otherwise, extremely fine.
