PHRYGIA. Hierapolis. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Assarion (Bronze, 19 mm, 4.77 g, 12 h), M. Suillios Antiochos, grammateus. Time of Claudius, 50-54. Μ ΣΥΙΛΛΙΟΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΣ ΓΡ ΙΕΡΑΠΟΛΙΤΩΝ Apollo on horseback to right, holding double-axe over his left shoulder. Rev. ΓΕΝΕ[Ι ΣΕΒΑΣΤΩ]Ν Hexastyle temple set on podium of three steps. RPC I -. RPC I online -. Apparently unpublished. Very fine.

The reverse ΓΕΝΕΙ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΩΝ literally translates as 'to the dynasty of emperors'. Thus, the temple shown on the coin was likely dedicated to the Julio-Claudian dynasty.
