Phocas, 602-610. Semissis (Gold, 19 mm, 2.17 g, 7 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Constantinopolis. δ N FOCAS PЄRP AVG Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Phocas to right. Rev. VICTORIA AIЧI Cross potent on globe. Cf. SB 634 (for obverse) and SB 784 (for possible reverse). Minor flan fault and a light scratch on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.


This interesting imitation combines an obverse of Phocas with a reverse of a Heraclius.
