Michael VIII Palaeologus, 1261-1282. Trachy (Bronze, 24 mm, 1.95 g, 6 h). Nimbate bust of Christ facing, wearing tunic and pallium, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels in his left; to left and right K - K. Rev. Emperor kneeling slightly to right, being presented by Archangel Michael to Christ enthroned slightly to left and holding scroll in his left hand. SB 2259. Somewhat rough, otherwise, very fine.
