LYDIA. Tralleis. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 26 mm, 12.54 g, 12 h), Ptol..., magistrate, CY 2 = 132/1. Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; above, ΠΤΟΛ; to left, B above TPAΛ; to right, Dionysos standing right, holding thyrsos in his right hand and mask of Silenos in his left. BMC 45. SNG von Aulock 3263. Nicely toned and with a lovely reverse symbol. Struck from a worn obverse die and with minor traces of overstriking, otherwise, very fine.
