Singh: Two new Kings of Panchala, in: JONS 234 (2018), pp. 15-17. Pieper -. Very rare. Minor flan crack, otherwise, good very fine.
From a collection of coins from Central Asia.
The royal title Rajnyah and the iconography of Rajnyah Vijayamitra, a new ruler in the lineage of the Panchala kings, show that the Panchala coinage continued well into the Kushan era. This argues against a long numismatic interlude in northern India.
