Nero is certainly one of the most famous emperors, thanks to Tacitus and Suetonius, but also one of the most despised. He is the last representative of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. After the murder of Claudius by Agrippina with locusts in 54 AD, at the age of 17, he began his reign under good auspices. With the help of Seneca, his teacher, and Burrus, the Praetorian prefect, he intelligently ruled the Senate. Ultimately, however, he turned out to be a tyrant, and the last nine years of reign destabilized the Empire.

Neron jest z pewnością jednym z najbardziej znanych cesarzy, dzięki Tacytowi i Swetoniuszowi, ale także jednym z najbardziej pogardzanych. Jest ostatnim przedstawicielem dynastii julio-klaudyjskiej. Po zabójstwie Klaudiusza przez Agrypinę przy pomocy szarańczy w 54 roku, w wieku 17 lat, rozpoczął panowanie pod dobrymi auspicjami. Z pomocą Seneki, swojego nauczyciela i Burrusa, prefekta Pretorian, inteligentnie rządził w Senacie. Ostatecznie jednak okazał się tyranem, a ostatnie dziewięć lat panowania zdestabilizowało Cesarstwo.
