SWITZERLAND. Zurich. Johann Heinrich Waser Cast Silver Oval Medal, 1668. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
41x47mm; 32.46 gms. Leu-491. Obverse: Bust facing slightly right, wearing fur and ruffled collar; Reverse: Legend and date in seven lines. Quite pleasantly toned, this fairly RARE type exhibits some waviness on the reverse and scattered marks consistent with the mode of manufacture, but remains very charming. Compare to the Leu specimen, which realized a hammer of ChF 1,700 in 2012 (approx. $1,837).
