KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 35.5 mm, 16.51 g, 12 h), struck posthumously, Mesembria, c. 175-125. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛΕΩΣ AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; inner left, helmet above ΔΑ; below throne, O and monogram. Price 1043. Deposits, otherwise, very fine.
