KINGS OF LYDIA. Alyattes II to Kroisos, circa 610-546 BC. Trite (Electrum, 12.5 mm, 4.69 g), Sardes. Head of lion to right, with open jaws and with a sun and rays on its forehead. Rev. Two incuse squares, one larger than the other. SNG Kayhan 1013. SNG Ashmolean 749-51. SNG von Aulock 2868. Weidauer 86-89. Attractive and nicely struck. Very fine.
