BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Antialkidas Nikephoros, circa 130-120 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 8.71 g, 12 h). ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΝΙΚΗΦΟΡΟΥ / ΑΝΤΙΑΛΚΙΔΟΥ Diademed and draped bust of Antialkidas to right. Rev. Maharajasa jayadharasa / Amtialkidasa (in Kharosthi) Zeus standing facing, with elephant prancing to left behind him, holding a transverse, lotos-tipped scepter in his left hand and, in his right, Nike standing left on a globe and crowning the elephant with a wreath held in her right hand; to left, monogram of ΗΔΥ. Bopearachchi 6A. HGC 12, 254. SNG ANS 1057. Rare. Toned and well centered. Scratches, porosity, reverse corroded, otherwise, very fine.
