BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Amyntas, circa 80-65 BC. Drachm (Silver, 20.5 mm, 2.56 g, 12 h). ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΝΙΚΑΤΟΡΟΣ / ΑΜΥΝΤΟΥ Helmeted heroic bust of Amyntas to left, wearing aegis on left shoulder and seen from behind, wielding spear in right hand. Rev. Maharajasa jayadharasa Amitasa (in Karosthi) Radiate Zeus-Mithra seated 3/4 to left, holding Athena in outstretched right hand, scepter and palm branch in left; monogram to left. Bopearachchi 11A. HGC 12, 426. SNG ANS 1247. Rare. Bent and straightened, otherwise, extremely fine.
