C. Malleolus, 96 BC. Fourrée Denarius (Silver plated bronze, 20 mm, 2.94 g, 9 h), Rome. Helmeted head of Mars right; above, mallet; below chin, denomination mark. Rev. Warrior standing left, resting right foot on cuirass and holding spear in right hand; behind him, a tabella divided into two compartments, in one CM/(AL) in two lines, in the other a Π, retrograde and sideways; in field before him, a trophy. Babelon (Poblicia) 8. Crawford 335/3f. Sydenham 615b. Scratches and the reverse with large areas of core exposed, otherwise, very fine.
