LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 21.5 mm, 7.83 g, 12 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of barley ears and triple-pendant earring; blow chin, ΔΑ. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to left; to left, on leaf, amphora; to left, below leaf, ΦΙ. HN III 1588 corr. (Φ instead of ΦΙ). Johnston Class C 11.6 corr. (same dies, but ΔΑ not noted and not on the flan of the illustrated example); SNG ANS 487. Nicely centered. Soft strike on the high points, porosity, otherwise, very fine.
