Hyperpyron (Gold, 30 mm, 4.26 g, 6 h), Constantinople, 1197-1203. + KE BOHΘEI / IC - XC Christ Pantokrator standing facing on daïs, raising right hand in benediction and holding Book of Gospels with left. Rev. AΛEZIω ΔECΠO Tω KOMNHNω / ΘEK Alexius, holding akakia in right hand, and St. Constantine standing facing, holding patriarchal cross between them. DOC 1b. SB 2008. Partial flat strike, graffito on obverse, otherwise, very fine.
