Kingdom of Macedon, Philip II AV Quarter Stater. Abydos, circa 323-319 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress / ΦIΛIΠΠOY, star over club to left above, bow over lagobolon below. Apparently unpublished; cf. M. Thompson, "Posthumous Philip II Staters of Asia Minor" no. 103b & 104c for staters from Abydos with the same symbols. 2.17g, 11mm, 12h.

Seemingly an unpublished type, this quarter stater utilises the same symbols as staters known to have been struck posthumously at Abydos.
