A major study of this important artist (1604–1672), whose innovations at the Paris Mint were as significant as his own contributions to medallic art. Varin (or Warin) instructed the young King Louis XIV in numismatics, instilling in him the appreciation of coins and medals that contributed so heavily to his legacy. Very scarce.
