Small 8vo, contemporary black quarter calf with marbled sides; spine ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt; all page edges yellow. viii, 98 + iv, 36 + 32 + 14 pages. Spine rubbed; some spotting and browning; very good. Rare. Gottfried Bernhard Loos (1774–1843) was the second son of German medallist Daniel Freidrich Loos (1735–1819). He established the large medallic works of Loos in Berlin, which, according to Forrer, "produced a large number of medals, and employed some of the best German medallists."
