Bound Volume of French Coin Catalogues, 1873–1900
[Auction Catalogues]. BOUND VOLUME OF SEVEN RARE FRENCH COIN SALE CATALOGUES. Includes: Rollin & Feuardent sales of 1 mai 1884 (Luria, priced and partly named); 18–25 juin 1885 (Bieswal, priced and named); 13–14 avril 1891 (Rattier, partly priced); Hoffmann's sale of 5–6 mai 1873 (Jouvenou et al., partly priced); 15–16 décembre 1873 (Kergariou, priced); and Florange's sale of 11–14 juin 1900 (Schoen-Lamblin-Thèvenot, annotated, with four collotype plates). Seven catalogues, bound in one volume. 8vo, contemporary brown quarter calf with mottled sides; spine with four raised bands, lettered and decorated in gilt; marbled endpapers; original printed paper covers generally bound in. Untrimmed. Printed spine label. Near fine. Another attractive volume, bringing together seven scarce 19th-century French coin catalogues. Includes the 1885 catalogue offering the third part of the A. Bieswal collection. Opening with 336 lots of ancient coins, the bulk of the catalogue is given over to French coins-the entire catalogue is priced and named. The volume also includes the G.-A. Schoen-Lamblin de Mulhouse collection of French coins, issued with four photographically printed collotype plates. Ex Rollin & Feuardent Library (Weil sale of 26 novembre 1993, part of lot 308).
