Hazlitt. [English portion only, pages 152–190]. Priced and named. 4 plates. Five catalogues, bound in one volume. Crown 4to, slightly later red half calf; spine with four raised bands, lettered and decorated in gilt, black spine label ruled and lettered in gilt; marbled endpapers; top page edges gilt. Slight rubbing to spine; rear hinge cracked; very good or better. Another handsome volume from the Oswald Fitch Library, bringing together five Sotheby sales of English coins, all of them priced and named. The important Rashleigh collection features early British, Anglo-Saxon, English, Scottish, Irish, Anglo-Gallic, and Colonial coins, among them rare American colonial coins, including a "Newby farthing in gold," which brought the princely sum of £83. Although Henry Chapman attended the sale, Spink purchased the Newby and all of the Massachusetts silver coins; Chapman did buy the Lord Baltimore shilling for £10.
