Finely Bound French Medals Bulletin
Club Français de la Médaille. BULLETIN. Numbers 1–85. Paris: Administration des Monnaies et Médailles, 1963–1984. Eighty-five numbers (some published in double issues), bound in nineteen volumes. 8vo, later matching red quarter morocco with green cloth sides; spines ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt; original printed or pictorial card covers bound in. Copies of Nos. 88, 90–92 and 94 (1985–1987), as published in card covers, also included. Generally fine. A finely bound set of this infrequently available publication, of the utmost importance for the study of modern medals in general and French medals in particular. The early issues are rarely seen. This very attractive set is nearly complete, lacking only Nos. 86–87, 89, and 93. The first 13 bound volumes were acquired by Richard Margolis from Spink, and the six subsequent bound volumes were bound in similar (nearly identical) style. Clain-Stefanelli 469.
