AR Antoninianus 250 AD, TRAJANUS DECIUS 249–251 AD Rome. Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right IMP CM Q TRAIANVS DECIVS AVG. Rev. emperor on horseback ADVENTVS AVG.RIC 11b; Coh. 4; S. 9366 (2691).Under Trajan Decius the fineness of the antoninianus ranges from around 47 % at the outset of the reign down to only 41 % in some subsequent issues. The average weight also declines from about 4 grams down to 3.60 grams.
