The Bentley Collection of British Milled Gold Sovereigns
1857 Sovereign with Spread Date
Victoria, Sovereign, 1857, spread date figures, die flawed 5 with angled top, and figure 7 distant from one another, WW incuse on truncation without stops, second larger young head left, date below, some letters of legend out of rotational alignment, rev crowned quartered shield of arms within laurel wreath, emblems below, 7.95g (Marsh 40; MCE 518; S 3852D). Once cleaned with scuffs and surface marks, otherwise good fine.
