Northumbria, Eadberht (738-758), Sceat, Series Y, class F variety, EOTBERHTVS in Roman lettering, around small elaborate central cross pommée in beaded inner circle, rev. fantastic animal standing right, foreleg raised, tail looped, pointing down, enclosing pellet and pellet cross, swastika below, 0.94g, 90° (SL 70-308 plate coin; Abramson 2018b; SCBI 69, 856 this coin; T&S pp. 576-93, 454-70; Gannon 87, 91, no. 83, 92, 127, 129, no. 149, 154, 167, no. 85, 190, no. 74, 192, and Figs. 3.16, 4.27, 4.29a, 4.64a; North 178; Spink 847), a trace of porosity, otherwise toned, the ancient device subverted by modern evil clearly emblazoned below the body, a really bold very fine, the combination presumed unique.
