THRACE, Kingdom of, Lysimachos, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.78 g), Lysimacheia mint, issued 280-250 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, within dotted circle, rev. Athena Nikephoros enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear behind, lion's head left above K in inner left, and MYO monogram below throne, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **LUSIMACOU*, (cf.S.6814, Thompson -, Pozzi 1168, Roma XVII, 421 [same obverse die similar rev. die], M.46, cf.HGC 3, 1493). Lightly toned, nearly extremely fine and very rare.
