SYRIA, Kingdom of, Seleucus I Nikator, in the name of Antiochos I Soter, (281-261 B.C.), silver tetradrachm (17.17 g), Ekbatana mint, struck under Seleukos I, circa 294 onwards B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated left, holding eagle and sceptre, in left field HAP monogram over anchor with flutes upward, forepart of horse lower left, MI monogram under throne, to right **SELEUKOU* upwards, below in exergue **BASILEWS*, (cf.S.6829. SC 204.5a, Newell ESM 500, HGC 9, 12k). Very fine/extremely fine, slightly off centred on reverse, rare.
