SYRIA, Kingdom of, Alexander I Balas, (150-145 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.08 g), issued SE 164-165 = 149/8-148/7 B.C., Antioch mint, obv. diademed head of Alexander I to right, dotted border, rev. naked Apollo seated to left, on an omphalos, holding an arrow in extended right hand and rersting a bow in his left hand, on either side **BASILEWS ALEXANDROU [Q]EOPATOROS [KAI EU]ERGETOU*, in exergue **HG* monogram, (cf.S.7035, SC 1785.5i, HGC 9, 887a). Toned, slightly off centred on the obverse, nearly extremely fine and scarce.
