Together with Anzac Commemorative Medallion, 1915, issued 1967, in bronze (50x75mm) (C.1915/3), named to H.S.Holden and claimed by his nephew, the eldest surviving next-of-kin.
Horace Stanley Bolden, bookkeeper/clerk, age 19, born at Alexandria, Sydney, NSW; Enl.17Aug1914 at Randwick, Sydney, NSW in 4Bn with 2 years service and still serving in 21 Infy; Emb.19Oct1914; to join MEF 05Apr1915 for Gallipoli campaign; GSW right buttock 07Aug1915; reported missing and then KIA 06-9Aug1915 at Gallipoli; a witness to his death said he was killed in the charge at Lone Pine; body exhumed from Brown's Dip Cemetery about 500 yards S. of Anzac Cove and re-interred in Lone Pine Cemetery, Anzac, Gallipoli about 09Apr1923.
