RUSSIA. Hero of Soviet Union Gold Star Medal, Instituted 1934. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
Barac-894. Diameter: 30 mm; Weight: 33.04 gms. Obverse: Textured star with sides rising to central point; Reverse: '5212' stamp over central ГЕРОЙ / СССР inscription; red ribbon suspension with clasp that reads МОНЕТНБІЙ ДВОР. A desirable medal, manufactured in gold and awarded to heroes of the Soviet Union. It was the highest honorary title that could be given to both Soviet civilians and soldiers for a heroic act. Sold with a small booklet with a photo of the recipient (Subbotin Pavel Zakharoviyu), the award date being February 2, 1945, with certification stamp and hand signatures. The handwritten entry says: "Manifested during the execution of combat missions of the command on the front during the fight against the German invaders".
