SINGAPORE. Lead Uniface Reverse Trial Keping, AH 1250 (1835). Soho mint, Birmingham. Fighting Cock series. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, AU Details Gold Shield.
cf. KM-Tn4; Prid-34; SS-44. Weight: 8.95 gms. Struck on a broad flan, this interest issue displays bold design features with a lovely mottled brown color and naturally rough surfaces on the reverse. The obverse does show a couple of areas of discoloration with slightly rough surfaces accounting for the details designation, but are unobtrusive adding a bit of character. Despite its shortcomings a handsome piece with a good provenance sure to see spirited bidding from advanced collectors.

It is interesting to note that the brown coloration appears to be remnants of bronzing or copper plating of some nature. This would seem to make sense as this is a trial of a copper issue, but this is unconfirmed and only the opinion of the cataloger.

Ex: Spink (Singapore 6/1996) Lot #268.

Ex: Dr. A.N. Brushfield Collection (Glendining 11/1949) Lot # 290 (part of).

Estimate: $1000.00- $1500.00
