CHINA. Brass 700 Yuan Pattern, 1981. NGC PROOF-63.
KM-Unlisted. Diameter: 33mm. Bronze Age Discoveries. Type II. Golden leopard. An EXTREMELY RARE and quite possibly UNIQUE pattern issue that emanates from a remarkable series of such patterns that we are offering for the first time. This represents the only such example seen at NGC, with none having been seen at PCGS. This design was ultimately selected for the gold 200 Yuan type struck later in 1981 (Fr-11; KM-46). Though some coppery-violet toning is noted, along with a few light marks in the reverse field, this choice pattern striking nevertheless engages the eye of the viewer and radiates with intense brilliance.
