It is important to note that vault protectors hold a significant place in China's extensive numismatic history being produced for more than 1,000 years. From the beginning these issues were much larger, heavier, thicker and overall better made than the regular circulating Cash coinage. The sole purpose of these massive talismans was to be an offering for the God of wealth and each were hung with red silk and tassels in the mints spirit hall. It was believed that they contained magical powers that would protect the mint while bringing fortune and wealth to the treasury. Typically these were made to commemorate the opening of new casting furnaces to produce regular Cash coins.

Estimate: $45000.00- $60000.00
