(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. 100 Cash, ND (ca. March 1854-July 1855). Board of Revenue Mint, western branch. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Certified "85" by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.710. Weight: 45.6 gms. Fou bao, seven stroke bei. "Xian Feng yuan bao"; Reverse: "Dang bai". This highly attractive survivor exhibits bold well-defined features and naturally rough surfaces with plenty of remaining evidence of the finishing process. The pleasing rich patination coupled with minor earthen deposits adds much originality to this high denomination large cast issue. The reverse does exhibit a couple of lines in the surface near the rim to the right of "Dang" in the field that appear to be as made mentioned for accuracy. Clearly an example that was plucked from circulation early on and handled with great care as this large format piece is remarkable free of edge bumps or other signs of maltreatment, certain to see spirited bidding from many collectors.

Estimate: $600.00- $800.00
