(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Zhili. 100 Cash, ND (ca. 1854-55). Chengde Mint. Emperor Wen Zong (Xian Feng). Certified "82" by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
Hartill-22.1063; FD-2534. Weight: 42.6 gms. "Xian Feng yuan bao"; Reverse: "Dang bai". This charming and seldom encountered large denomination exhibits bold calligraphy with intact rims, save for a couple of small edge bumps. Areas of the open fields display varying degrees of smoothing, to enhance its appearance, from long ago now toned over matching the rest of the coin. This pleasing survivor displays an attractive brassy tone on the high point complemented by a milk chocolate color in the open fields that transitions to a richer dark brown patina with remnants of light dusty earthen deposits. Though the surface texture is not original, the enhancement was done ages ago now offering a pleasing appearance sure to catch the attention of many collectors.

Estimate: $3000.00- $4000.00
