BMC-Class LXVI Group I # 897. Weight: 200.84 gms. "Zhang tong chang hao hui hao wen yin" (Zhangtongchang Bank, remittance bank fine silver), Right and left: "Gong gu tong she chen kan" (Inspected by public assayers Tong, She and Chen). This wholesome and original looking example displays light mottled gray tone with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices and richer coloration in the protected areas. The deeply applied outer stamps are bold, but with slightly obscured calligraphy and the central stamp is even with some flatness. The assay stamps are nicely centered with even wear and are easily read. An attractive offering with a good look sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
