(t) CHINA. Szechuan. 200 Cash, Year 2 (1913). PCGS MS-61 Gold Shield.
KM-Y-459.1a; Hsu-312; CCC-432; Duan-2198; CL-SCJ.45. Struck in brass with long tassels. Softly struck in the centers with considerable luster. A die cud at 5 o'clock has broken away the bottom of the word "CASH". This lovely survivor is quite nice for the issue, vastly superior to most encountered with much remaining luster and a decent strike. Both sides exhibit areas of natural planchet roughness due to lack of die pressure to fully impress the design features, but with good definition of the devices otherwise. The reverse does exhibit a thin planchet crack in the flat area, but is hardly a distraction for this piece. The rich mottled brassy patina coupled with the lustrous surfaces offer much of what collectors could ask for from this series sure to see spirited bidding from keen numismatists.
Estimate: $1000.00- $1500.00
