The reverse shared with a medal of the Anaconda Mine, also in Butte. The Parrot mine eventually became the Parrot Silver & Copper Company. The mine worked the gangon-parrot lode - the richest vein of copper ever discovered in the continental United States. The lode is long worked out but the abandoned mine buildings remain.
