The Eccles Collection | Edward IV, First Reign (1461-1470), Light Coinage, Groat, Type VII, Bristol, crowned bust facing, quatrefoils by neck, B on breast, rev. VILLA BRISTOW, long cross and pellets, 2.74g, 4h, m.m, crown/crown (North 1580; Spink 2004), some crimping, toned on a fuller flan, almost fine; additionally, Second Reign, Groats, London (2), Type XIII, 1471-1472, trefoils on cusps, nothing by bust, 2.81g, m.m. large annulet/trefoil (Spink 2096), full but crinkled flan, toned, almost fine, rare; another, Type XXI, 1480-1483, rose on breast, 2.24g, 6h, m.m. heraldic cinquefoil (North 1631; Spink 2100), clipped to inner circle, otherwise beautifully toned and uniformly struck up, a pleasing very fine (3).
